Tastes Like Summer: Joanna Gaines Peach Cobbler Recipe

Ingredients

6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced

1 cup granulated sugar (for peaches)

¼ cup water

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

½ cup unsalted butter

1½ cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar (for batter)

2 teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup whole milk

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg


Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches  with 1 cup of granulated sugar, water, and lemon juice. Stir to coat the  peaches and let them sit for about 10 minutes.

3. While the peaches are resting, melt the butter in a baking dish in the preheated oven.

4. In another bowl, mix together the flour, 1 cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt.

5. Gradually stir in the milk and vanilla extract until just combined.

6. Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish. Do not stir.

7. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter, including the juice. Again, do not stir.

8. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg to taste.

9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly.

10. Serve warm and enjoy!
